I spoke too soon! Here are some more takeaways of the wedding. This is me doing last minute accessories/playing he loves me, he loves me not, while having my hair done.

Thankfully, the bride! And I quote her, "We made sure that everything had meaning that day. I wore these handmade hair clips, personally made by my crafty sister and maid-of-honor. Truly 3x gorgeous."

And that is what I want my craft to be all about --- a bearer of happy vibes, unassuming glamour and loaded with meaning. :)

Girls In White Dresses

Being a woman of grand gestures, weddings paint a picture for me of life --- its meaning and its victories. Regardless of your thoughts on love (some say, stop looking for it; others say, do something about it!), there is no harm in taking a moment to just bask in the magic and energy of love.

Cliched and cheesy, maybe, but some moments, some milestones and some traditions will always resonate positively with people. It's impossible to simply ignore how special the day is for the bride and groom, and the ways in which it is definitely touching my own. Yes, I'm a woman of perpetual comparisons too. Haha!

But before we get ahead of ourselves, rest assured, this isn't a blog on weddings, relationships, loving-you-from-a-distance confessions kinda thing... #thesearemyconfessions

Not quite there yet. #onlyheavenknows :)

Anyways... So what ensues is a weekend (or a month) of romantic and comedic entertainment with maidzilla moments, memorable one-liners and several performances. Clearly, one-upmanship is in my DNA. #datsentertainment (Programs committee, yo!)

The wedding, the bride, the place was just beautiful. So naturally, things got sloppy on my end and I forgot all about the hair accessories I made for the bride and entourage... which brings us to this --- a wordy, hormone-charged, blog post to compensate for the lack of photos.

A few months ago, in the middle of reevaluating my career, I felt the need to satiate my curiosity and change things up. It was around that time when the last Harry Potter film was released -- and boy, that broke my heart more than any boy ever did/could, so I was looking to add some feel-good energy in my life and to appease my idle hands, eco-conscience and brain drain all at the same time.

I realized that happiness is earned, projected even... It's something you can create, either in an epic the-boy-who-lived scale or in a way that's quite simple, clever and chic, like a shopping event. Shopping + CSR = endorphins = "happy project". It was simple algebra. Haha!

Since celebrating creativity and being a spendthrift are two issues I hold near and dear, I decided to hold the Style Swap. Good for me, good for charity, good for creatures big and small. You know I'm quite excellent at busying and distracting myself with "happy projects" to avoid the true and deeper questions about happiness. But that's a different story. Wait, where was I?

Oh, right, the swap. I was just grateful to have some new friends and happy working elves to play with that I made sure all seedlings of doubt, stress, and pressure that come with planning an event simply wouldn't sprout. And of course it was made more fun by power teammates. :)

So, thanks to everyone who donated, helped me out and participated in the Style Swap! Your comments, with their varied mix of praise, pressure and paasa (haha!) were all welcome, and of course, grit for the mind. :) Please accept my air kisses and good tidings as we come into the most wonderful time of the year! THANK YOU.

This post about a happy project might sound candy floss and corny to most. Believe me, I was tempted to inject curse words, gay lingo or Tagalog just to give it some attitude haha... but I guess it's the perfect medium to say that overall, I feel pretty happy and blessed. :)

My craft has been pretty intermittent, unless the muse strikes back or opportunity knocks, to which I say, "Hello, come in!" And like a well-packed lunchbox, I simply have to share them with you. AKA All items must go!

But first, a back story.

This is Kylie, a rose among the thorns in the lovely and artfully neglected campus, UP Diliman. One rainy Saturday, we got stranded in the bungalow/school (the one near the playground near Archi), together with my photographer Joseph, a pack of stray guard dogs, a clingy black cat, and a random couple.

Thus, in pursuit of pretty things, Tim Gunn's "Make it work" became that afternoon's philosophy.

Just as we get stuck with old habits, we also get stuck with stuff we collect over the years. While being a pack-rat was necessary during the Great Depression, that type of thinking today creates excess baggage. And sure, there's this feeling that you'll need the items one day.

When I lose weight, I'll wear that.

However, "one day" never comes. (How sad and Bridget Jones-like is that? Haha!) Here's a good rule of thumb: If you haven't used something in more than a year, chances are you can live without it. :)

So let your wardrobe breathe and give someone else clothes that actually fit them at the Style Swap this Saturday, Nov. 12, 1-5 PM at the Union Bank Plaza, Ortigas. All you have to do is to bring AT LEAST 5 swap items (new or gently worn clothes, bags, shoes or accessories) and the registration fee of P100 to swap with fashion bloggers and other bargain hunters!

Anything left behind (those grey jeggings, for instance) gets taken to a charity shop/ institution, such as Rags2Riches and Girls Town of Silang, Cavite.

Sorry, Barney. New. Isn't. Always Better. Recycling is, though!

I already know how to work with chains, let alone break stuff down to salvage materials... Next thing to cross off my list it to learn how to make metal collar necklaces (and weapons, maybe?)

There is this rabbit hole which I've slipped into for the past couple of weeks.

So you see, this post, this collection is my grandiose effort to win you back, get better at my craft and ignore the fact that it is getting a little bit harder to wake up these days. :)

This is After 5, the formal line of accessories from Bend & Snap. And although I'm unsure how well it will hold up over time, I'm really smitten by the thought of having a bridal line. Right now, it's all about curating, cherishing, discovering, editing, inventing, upcycling, recycling and most of all, having the confidence that this trial and error method will lead me somewhere.

Naturally, sand, charcoal, greys and blues, all paired with metallic black and sequins (I'm not really a less is more kind of girl) became the palette for After 5 to "warm up" the cooler nights.

Anyway, I hope you find something here that will make your heart go boom buroom boom boom!

For The Very First Time

It has been a very busy week/ month for me. I kept saying "yes" to different things --- make-up class, Zumba, surfing, design collaborations and of course, the occasional revival of my brand.

I guess I come from the Madonna school of thought that variety, reinvention, and trying out new things keep you young. That, or Kaballah. So I always aspire to make things (shiny and) new. It's just a natural part of the creative process and I like it that way. Keeps it challenging.

Anyway, here are some photos from the fashion show which I said "Yes!" to last month, featuring Bend & Snap accessories and Stylebreak clothes at "Glow", the UP Bar Ops Kick-off Party at Manor.

As much as I love making hair jewelry (pro bono, might I add) and having a good hair day, sadly, I always resort to the labandera look in real life. I always feel like I get more work done with a faux thinking cap on.

And after putting in a hard day's work and finishing my "labada", I easily sport whoops-just-woke-up, messy hairography which I'm all for because I'm a bit of a scrooge when it comes to hair products. And well, it works best with mine anyway.

DANNIJO jewelry is the brainchild of New York sibling Danielle and Jodie Sydner. Danielle is more boho rock 'n' roll, while her "ate" injects old hollywood glamour in their designs. The combination? A curious mixture of metals, Swarovski crystals, chain details, spikes and tribal beads. I've always been a fan of the line and the sisters since spotting their work in celebrity gossip columns and lists such as "America's Coolest Young Entrepreneurs" from inc.com. Ahhhh handmade... Doesn't it just amaze you? :)

I love the tough + soft elements in their designs. I promise that after I finish my Revalida on May 2, I'm getting my hands on new materials. Speaking of which... I gotta stop procastinating my paper! :( :( :( Sometimes, I wish I could just study jewelry design. But more on that next time. Less whining, more writing! Bye for now!

I partnered with the ladies behind Looking for Lola and Little Miss Dress Up for a mini bazaar a few months ago. (This is a late and quite useless post I know, but I have a point and we'll get there eventually.)

More vintage awesomeness here.

Aside from a mutual (and obvious) love for shiny, shimmering, splendid stuff, the tie-up was a success thanks to an all-girls school event nearby. Our shelves were cleaned out by young, tasteful fashionistas thriving on daddy's allowance. So while everything in my blog is sold out, I've decided to test the waters and partner with other online shops, designers and creative megaminds. I don't know just how to do this, but this is me putting the idea out there for the universe to work its eat-pray-love magic on me.

And yes, I've got a lot on my plate right now, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Truth is, a busy schedule invigorates me as long as I'm busy doing things that I enjoy. But isn't that true for everyone? :)

So now we get to the point of this late post: tell me your idea, business proposal, or just tell me how you feel. *Cue Joy Enriquez* Haha!

Better Late Than Never

When I started this blog in the summer, I had an awesome time setting it up, creating DIY projects and organizing shoots. They all seemed to get the bug out of my system, but I haven't been able to keep up. There's a few things going on right now, but nothing like last year... with the new job, new friends, new lifestyle. It was overwhelming.

At any rate, I'm back with my blogging duties and I'll be making new stuff soon. (Fingers crossed!) I guess I'm not ready to declare this blog dead yet and it wasn't a fluke when Dora of Kimi Dora said, "Business is very good!!!" So much wisdom in Pinoy movies. :)

I should have shared this months ago (actually I did this but for the Powersnet site last year). Better late than never.

Inspiration Friday

I'm working on my last few custom pieces and I badly need an extra shot of inspiration! I'm dusting off the cobwebs in my brain (It's summer, forgive.) so that I can create something clever and unique for my extra special and extra excited customers. Because as corny as this sounds, there really is so much of myself and my thoughts in every single item I make.

Inspiration is as fickle as girls. But usually, I get moved by interiors, antique, big cities, everyday objects, movies, fairy tales, new supplies and the people who share their talent through their blogs and etsy shops. I guess it also helps that I have an active imagination and a very reliable internet service provider. ;) I found A LOT of visual stimulation online to get me started!

I know it's hard to achieve, but can't a girl believe?

Finally, Bend & Snap was part of a fashion spread in this month's issue of Chalk magazine. It's pretty small, pretty subtle... but still, pretty awesome right? Thought I'd share it with you! :)

If you were at the Grove by Rockwell during the weekend, you might have popped by my booth, engaged me in much needed chin-wag and wrestled with the crazy Manila heat. I joined my first ever (and last!) bazaar before I turned into the next corporate junkie. What what!

Yes, I’m starting work soon. The kind that involves a boss, an office and thinking. Yay!

I’m a little melodramatic though that my Bend & Snap stint is over, but I keep reminding myself that it was my sense of wanderlust and a desire for challenges that brought me to this happy place – my blogshop! And so while I’m a bit hesitant to put down the pliers, I know it’s time for a different adventure.

I haven’t won an Oscar but who cares? I can DIY one. Ha! So allow me to have a moment for my big speech…

Thanks to my family (especially my mom) and my wonderful friends who encouraged me, helped me out, gave me great advice, made me laugh… all those things you find in a Hallmark card. Thank you for allowing me to take the driver’s seat and going with the flow!

To those who followed my blog and supported my craftivity, thank you very much. You make me feel so lucky that I was able to accomplish one of my dreams. There are fluffier ways of saying it, but I proved the whole “if you think you can, YOU CAN!” notion. You cannot help but do great things with that kind of mindset!

Little Miss Sunshine

One day at a time.

Today is a Sunday and I feel giddy, fresh and clever. It's as if cartoon birds might just fly through my windows and braid my goldielocks locks. The job hunt is looking up and today I woke up with much needed clarity!

Now, on to pretty young things. Here's virtual style muse and friend Rosanna of "Little Miss Dress Up", wearing one of my creations. Her pretty little face is popping up just about everywhere, including EDSA. Congrats, Sans!

MOVIE FASHION WITH FARRAH: SATC

Early today, the full theatrical trailer for Sex and the City 2 was officially released. HBO's not paying me for this but I figured I should write about the Fashion Fab Four here in Bend & Snap. After all, what's a fashion blog without a mention of the show that started it all? And the fiercely fashionable New York City gals that taught us to raise our Cosmopolitans to toast to the wonderful world of fashion where "no flower is too big, no skirt too short, or no shoe too expensive!"

When the show started in 1998, I was a fifth grader who quickly skipped her teeny-bopper phase partly because of all the exposure this show has given me. In the same way that when we were 5, we wanted to be 7, when I was 11, I wanted to be thirty, flirty, and thriving (oops, this one's referenced to another show, 13 Going on 30 starring Jennifer Garner) like the SATC girls. I loved how they weren't doing homework but were out there in the real world tackling everything WOMAN- fashion, disposable finances, romantic relationships, friendship, career, beauty... I can go on and on but all I'd really like to point out is that I loved how it depicted a very new kind of empowered woman that one day, I'd like to become. I grew up with the TV show; I'm happy that now that I am a newly corporate career woman myself, it's still growing up with me through film.

Unlike the others who fancied being one of the characters, I always wished I were their fifth bestfriend who would have my own strongly differentiated personality / fashion style / branding (there goes the Marketing geek in me). I mean, don't you agree that they need an Asian member? Or that Farrah sounds like a perfect branded name to go with the others? LOL okay I'm dreaming again. Anyway, in countdown to the SATC 2 movie, let's get to know each of the girls again and bask in their respective signature looks. The Facebook quizzes may ask, Which Sex and the City Chica are you? but I say we all have a share of each of the girls. We have workaholic Miranda moments, idealistic Charlotte moments, vavavoom Samantha moments, and quirky Carrie moments. And that mixture, whatever the ratio, plus your very own spice, makes you your very own kind of woman.

The group's most senior member with an extremely strong facade, confidence, and personality (perfect for her PR career); her character is further developed when she gets diagnosed with cancer, eventually conquering it and learning to live life beyond 'pleasures'

*Samantha is an extreme character. And I totally appreciate her shameless love for her self. If we all had those, then insecurities won't bite us so much. But beyond her extreme facade, I also appreciate how she's a really caring and loyal friend. She can be the worst bitch you'll encounter but if you're one of her girls, you'll always, always have her behind you.

CHARLOTTE YORK
The very traditionally brought up darling of the group with a truly romantic and optimistic personality; Charlotte was an art history major, straight A student, prom queen, cheerleader, student body president, track team captain, and teen model; much of her character's struggles represent our yearning for 'perfection' and the 'ideal'

*I've always found Charlotte amusing. I wish I can be as optimistic as her, not to mention as popular to the boys. :p

CARRIE BRADSHAW
The New York City glitterati member known for her unique fashion sense and her weekly column Sex and the City for the [fictitious] newspaper New York Star; she is also a contributor to fashion magazines like Vogue; her character is simple and open-minded, with ups and downs that make her very much relative to normal, everyday females

*I always thought I was more of a Carrie. And not just because I have Carrie-messy hair. Of all the girls, I connect best with her. I also like her very casual writing style- it's like writing freestyle for oneself without worrying of impressing the world or winning a literary award.

A special shoutout to the Girlie Slant team: I say let's schedule to watch this movie (if you're scheduled to watch it already, then let's watch it again!) and have a little team get-together! Yes yes?

My next big project!

No, I'm not getting married. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No. No. But I did say "I do." when my sister asked me to make the tuttifruiti accessories for their wedding. But a lot can happen in 10 months... recession, a change in theme, an aversion to hair froufrou or mad cow disease. It's the classic chick lit formula.

I'm so excited over all the possibilities for my "something new". Like everything Bend & Snap related, this will provide me laughter, escapism, amusement and as much bliss as the finale kiss in the chapel. And I hope to do the same for the entourage.

By now, you guys are probably already fans of Sea of Shoes, but have you heard about Style Rookie?

When I first read Sea of Shoes in 2008, I wished I was as stylish as Jane Aldridge was when I was 16. Fast forward to January 2010 -- this time I found out about Tavi Gevinson from Style Rookie. Far from her blog's name, she makes me wish I was as fashion forward as she is when I was 13!

To think she started her blog in 2008!

When I was 13 I already knew that I loved clothes and dressing up, but at that time I had very little knowledge of the fashion industry. Unlike Nissy who did Vogue back then (see her Glossy post), sadly, what I knew was limited to what I saw on TV and local fashion/teen magazines. Candy mag, anyone? :p

So I just find it amazing that someone at 13 is already making waves in the fashion world. Blogging, sitting front row at the shows of some of the biggest names in the industry, getting featured in Paris Vogue, and even giving her perspective on the whole bloggers vs. journalists issue (which I didn't even know 'til I read about it in her blog).

Her style probably won't appeal to everyone, but I love her take on layering and piling on articles of clothing when I'm in the mood for texture in my outfits. She's a great source of inspiration on how to throw on stuff in a new way especially on days when shopping for new stuff is not an option, and when I have already run out of ideas on how to maximize my closet.

Vogue was my favourite reading material as a child. Other kids were reading Sweet Valley High and Betty & Veronica, but I was reading Vogue. (Mum's got 6 sisters and 1 brother so yeah, do the math.)

I mostly poured over the glamorous photos rather than read what was on the glossy pages but I've basically been obsessed with fashion and lifestyle magazines since I was like 7 or 8. I was just so impressed by the art, beauty, style and overall savoir faire of magazines. Vogue, among many other titles, is the reason why I've decided to major in Journalism.

Imagine my delight when I saw scans of fashion ads that, to this day, are so vivid in my long-term memory! I present to you, la mode du mon enfance.

Just came home from a whole day shoot with the magnificent Jeanne Young! She did covers for Preview and the like but she's still so humble and nice! I kind of felt accomplished when I made her laugh during my "candid-laughing-laughing" shots. Anyway, it's for this new website which you'll soon hear more of from me and... well, secret for now! See, i like having an "official launch" for things, so I'm not divulging anything yet. :)

Oh and Bend & Snap was featured in the Philippine Daily Inquirer today... SNAPS!!! Read the article over here.

Tomorrow will be another day with Jeanne Young and some of the most talented people I've ever met!!! Need my beauty sleep, goodnight. :)

Wing it like Wang

It's time for a new DIY project, what do you think? Yes? Great, because today we're making Alexander Wang ripped chain shorts knock-offs.

SRSLY, why buy when you can DIY?

You will need:

And a block of wood or any solid surface that can work as your cutting board.

1. First, cut an old pair of jeans with scissors. Always keep the extra fabric for future projects.

2. Optional: I cut out the excess thread from my hem of my shorts because I didn't want it to look too rugged. Tip: to get an honest to goodness, worn-to-death look to them, scrub a hard metal sponge or sandpaper onto your jeans.

3. Rub the cheese grater onto places where you want the rips. Target the hems and the edges of pockets because that's where natural distressing occurs. But since we're "Wang-ing" it today, the thigh vicinity should be the area for major distressing. You will see that the fabric will start to rip. Just continue the process until you get the desired size of the holes.

4. Optional: I whipped out my cutter to create more distress such as holes and tears, then went back to fraying with my cheese grater. I didn't know about the greatness of graters until this project... and woah i purred like a kitten when I saw the results. This kitchen tool is genius!

5. Put the chains through the holes...

6. Hook the chains together.

7. Repeat a few more times.

AND VOILA ALL DONE!!!

8. Optional: Camwhore. Hahaha.

This was supposed to be my first post for a new fashion website that I'll be contributing to. But since our editorial calendar got moved, I figured I'll post this one here instead. No high school curriculum is complete without a large chunk of Greek mythology. Why, why? Tell them that it's human nature. These stories are AMAZING, even Simon Cowell would say they're "currunt". The appeal of how gods came into being and how heroes battled monsters is still relevant today. I love how immortal gods seem down-to-earth human because they battle with the same things as we do, like sibling rivalry, love, revenge etc. The Illiad and The Odyssey are good places to start, but there's also the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series which I'm currently obsessing over! Vampires are so dead.

In other news, Bend & Snap is featured in this month's Belle de Jour Gazette, the online newsletter for the cash cow planners. Yehey! Meanwhile, I'm trying to brace myself for another looming Monday with a slew of errands, appointments and the cliched blues.

"Get wrapped up and melt away the pounds." If only it were that easy, huh?

Body wraps claim to squeeze fat cells together in order to give it a slimmer shape. Not convinced? Me neither. There is no magic potion, or else I would have been first to turn myself into a pritchon roll.

What is assuring though is that the bold shoulder is back, through the resurrection of epaulettes, which with the right outfit --- an asymmetric cut, a V-neck top, or a blazer --- can produce a refreshing and slimming effect.

Bold Shoulder: "Theory"

If you've read the book called "The Game" by the pickup artist Neil Stauss, then you are familiar with the Peacock Theory. It says that in order to get the attention of the opposite sex, you need to dress up in a flashy and colorful way. Appearances matter, yes. And taking fashion risks is fun and rewarding indeed. But sometimes, less is more. (For instance, I'd prefer to date someone who looks like a well-mannered gentleman over some bighead. But that's just me. I really belong to a different time!)

So on those days when you feel like Gagafying yourself (Yes, she's a verb now!) but want to do it in a more subtle manner, this peacock epaulette might do the trick. Light as a feather, yet big enough to make a statement!

Pocket full of dreams

Just finished my Bend & Snap interview for the Inquirer. Thank you, Rosanna!

And while thinking of the most clever and honest answers to questions like “What inspires you?” “What’s the overall aesthetic for Bend & Snap?” “What creative process do your pieces go through?”, I realized… hey, I can be pretty smart! Sometimes, even I surprise myself. I was able to look back at how this craft started and the trial and error and thought processes that each piece go through. Everything is self-taught. I do my research, study others and just do what I do and hope for the best.

Ok, I’m lifting things off the interview already.

But I occasionally get stuck in a creative rut. Like right now, I can’t even write my sappy sap oh-my-gawd-you’ll-want-this write ups for my new products. Elle Woods, I summon thee.

Here’s some things I might do to get inspired:

Words - And lots of it. I try to read different things, from Men’s Health to chick lit to poems to the classics. I browse through art books that I find at home, read different interviews of big-time people and occasionally drool over my favorite design blogs. My sister makes fun of how I can’t finish a novel. I’m a plot-jumper and read 3-4 different books at a time. Is it just because I have short attention span? Mmm.

Photos - I enjoy looking at photos and think about what it is that I like about them or what words come to mind when I look at them. Then I get amused at how my taste evolves and concoct an instant “Aha!” moment.

I don't understand anything from the Hus & Hem site, but the beautiful pictures compensate for the frustration.

WHY BUY WHEN YOU CAN DIY...A BUTTON BIB NECKLACE!

1. Gather your materials and start conceptualizing how you want it to look. I decided to use monochromatic-colored buttons because it just adds to the classy factor. 2. Apart from time, here's the stuff which you need (See i was debating whether to use the yellow and red theme vs. the blue one) 3. I decided to use a half-circle shape for the base of the necklace. (Ooo yes, a protractor, ruler and pencil are also needed!)

4. Start glue gunning like crazy! But don't use too much so that the buttons don't pop up. We want the necklace to be as flat and as clean as possible.

5. Sew chains behind the necklace.Fin! I was ready to head out for a really, really busy day: Photoshoot at 9, Meeting with website developer (Hey chrys! Don't cha just sound so professional?) at 1130, Supply Chain Management (another fancy way of puttings things) and buyer activities from 2-630pm!

Oh and i finally opened my Teen Vogue Handbook which is full of advice, pictures and in-depth profiles of fashion legends for young hopefuls like me. It comes with a 1 year subscription too, thank you very much!!!Thinking of scanning helpful pages from the book and posting more stray thoughts tomorrow.

Polish women happen to be very good in making paper chandeliers called "Pajaki" which is Polish for "spiders of straw". Ok, not sure how credible my web translator is, but it seems just about right as these fancy crepe paper cut outs are crafted into beautiful web-like patterns. I LOVE NON-MAINSTREAM CRAFT and I'm so turned on by paper right now. (Believe me, it's possible. I used to lust over those scrap booking kits with 100+++ printed paper.) I totally see my future (Future Kids Room, Future Foyer, Future Backyard) with these festive beauties!!! I'm gonna be such a Cool Mom. HAH!

Ok, incest, plotting and teensploitation aren't the next inspiration of Bend & Snap. I just caught the movie yesterday and loved the soundtrack. Fun and sexy, it's one of the best reasons to see the movie. And the ending is genius. But did Ryan Philippe really have to die? :( I mean, can a cab (at mild speed, mind you) really kill a fit, healthy teenager?

Before texting, it was Xerox and ring binders that helped young, rich Upper East Siders spread scandal.

Cue the violin riffs of yesteryear's anthem "Bittersweet Symphony".

So, here’s some of the shoulder jewelry which I made for Preview Magazine. I don’t know when (or if) they will get published, but I’m glad I had a reason to go back to my makeshift workroom (the downstairs den which lately has been off-limits to guests) and design something new.

I love this job. I get to do something creative, fight boredom, express myself and work from home. Dorothy was right. There’s no place like it.

However, the more time I devote myself on Bend&Snap, the more opportunities I get (not complaining here!), and the less compelling it is to find a “real job”. Arts and fashion have always been a big part of my life. But what about the other dream?

No, not the one which involved becoming an Olympic athlete. Or writing a self-help book for teens. Or dancing for a pop star.

The dream which I was trained to do and worked hard to be credible at. The one that included a great future --- A salary, a car, and functioning brain cells. At this point, I can hear an angry mob (or, two of my artsy friends) rallying, “ART JOBS ARE REAL JOBS! ART JOBS ARE REAL JOBS!”

I’m waiting for the day Natalie Portman leaves Hollywood and becomes a full-fledged psychologist. That’s the day when I put down the pliers, sport my glasses and become Ms. Business Executive.
