In other news, I am thrilled to talk in our Freshmen Orientation about the business (Yes, this!) and about my college on Monday. Not so thrilled about my productivity level. Sometimes I'm too ambitious for my own good. Then again, I grew up playing with the ultimate career woman in the planet who was able to hit 50 without a hint of wrinkle, cellulite or varicose vein.

Oh and if any of you still have Barbie's plastic shoes, may I please have them? Something fancy and less pink might just be created.

DIY: The Scientist

Before Fraulein Maria taught us the Do-Re-Mi's and before Gossip Girl's watchful maid Dorota showed us what a Surrogate Mom really means, there was Rosie, the helpful droid from the Jetson's cartoons.

George Lucas, MIT geeks, lazy yuppies, you, me. We all wished we had one and apparently, you don't need to be a scientist to build one. Now, I have my very own robot hanging on my neck. No screws required.

All this robot talk is getting me excited for Transformers 2. In true Perez Hilton style, here's Mr. I wanna have your babies himself, Shia LaBeouf, on his way to my house. Nice Shirt Shia!

Nobody Enjoys Long Distance

But 240 kilometers is well worth it for a great vintage find. Never mind if you picked up Ralph from Session Road or eyeballed Marc from a squalid storehouse.

Back from rainy Baguio, I finally started work in Metro Magazine the other day. Because I'm guilty of space-staring when there's nothing to do, I was ecstatic to have my hands full and my feet moving on my first day of work. I can't wait to write and interview and style and learn how to layout and edit. For now though, this is how I play with clothes.

And because we couldn't stop and smell the flowers, we had to settle for our own cultural tours --- shopping trips to the marketplace and a sojourn to our own Sleep temples at The Manor. I wish we had the chance to appreciate the city though and take in some Cordillera culture. See I still know my HEKASI.

Project 5: Sunshine In Your Hair

While Garbage sings of happiness, there's too much rain for me to enjoy cold weather and long sleeves. Oh summer, I barely got to know thee. Possibly the only bright side of this rainy vacation was the divine blessing to laze around and the permission to glutton. But with me and my friends, it's never too wet to have a summer barbeque, too cold to head to Baguio or too late to go to the beach. And come rain or shine, we keep our heads covered with these new scarves:

Project 4: It's Not Easy Being Ecru.

At 10, it was universal. Our wardrobes mimicked Crayola and we all had a favorite color inspired by a Ranger, a Barbie doll, a future profession or even ice cream toppings.

At 21, nothing much has changed. My anti-khaki, basics-deprived wardrobe still screams childhood fantasies and mirrors the "always fiesta, never office" clothes of T.V.'s Ugly Betty. So be it sunny and spectacular or even when the day lacks color, I choose to put on the peacock. Try it with my colorful accessories. I'd love to see the whole rainbow reflecting back at you.

Project 3: Le Paris du Chic (SOLD OUT!)

Because I'm ecstatic to be finally prioritized in the University of the Philippines, I decided to share my happiness with you with another post. Call it tacky, cheap or old hat, pink and turquoise have always appealed to the thirteen year-old teenybopper die-hard JT fan inside of me. Scroll down and take a quick look at my color mood board.
