I'm A Little Teapot

In ye olden days, tea parties often meant exploring the mountains & dense forests that were undoubtedly nearby. However, in today’s timid scenery, throwing one is just a great excuse for conversation, cute clothes and new Bend & Snap hairpieces.

Sew It Begins...

Just a tease of what's to come next week:
(Images from Flickr, i think? Whoops.)
Now, I'm not advocating teasing and playing games here.

But we all know that a pause is good. It helps set the mood and encourages Mr. ManBoy to go for the kill.

A break is needed in order to dance in those new heels. In new shoes, beware.

And a vacation, even a simple non-working holiday, makes me feel like I'm in Aruba-Jamaica-Bermuda-Bahama.

And I'm sorry, but making eye contact with those pictures for longer than 3 seconds won't reveal what I cooked up for you. This is gonna be the antimatter of my future!

COME BACK NEXT WEEK.
XXX,
Risa

Lend Me Your Talents

WELL WELL WELL...
Look who's now upgrading her photos.
I had so much fun in my first "real" photoshoot and I wanna keep it up. I think it adds even more personality to the blog, even Simon Cowell will be charmed. And so, if you're a photographer, a model, a stylist, a creative director (or someone creative in general!), a makeup artist, a D-I-Yer or someone like me who pretends she can do it all, then i want you! Remember the parable of the talents? God wants you to use them to help a sister out! Can I please get an Amen? Call/text/email me. :) Meanwhile, I am counting the days till I graduate and begin my little Bend & Snap empire.
This is my Jai Ho!!! Oh-oh-oh-oh!

How fast can you go?

Defy the Law of Graffiti

Add a splash of color and paint the town with this NEW tile-print scarf!

Nothin' "G-thang" about this pretty head scarf. Except that, maybe, it has a harder material than my previous scarves. So i don't recommend using it as bag-bling. Nevertheless, it will look good on your head. Exhibit A:

Met Paint Headscarf, Php 130

Fixin' A Broken Art

They said that the broken window was the tipping point.

And that even the smallest deviation from the norm, such as a broken window, will encourage even more vandalism and criminality. Let’s face it, like attracts like. (Uh-uh. You’re best friends because you have the same interests and tastes, but hopefully, not the same man.) Disorder invites more disorder.

However, something disastrous and unkempt could also invite art, fashion, positive energy and beautiful photos to come together.

And so, one afternoon, we play dress up and pose against the broken windows in the UP Arcade for our “If I were a Rich Girl” Shoot in the newest, dramatic pieces from Bend & Snap. And with an imagination, a hobby and friends like these, it’s natural to feel rich even when my savings account says otherwise.

Theresa in "Flapper Power". Black Flower with netting and silver and black sequins, Php 400.

Elaine in "You're Tulle Much!". Black tulle and silver sequins headpiece/necklace, Php350

An Apology & Update!

I apologize for the hiatus and lack of development (HA! so formal). I've been swamped with school work (We just pitched for our feasibility study. I'm so psyched and we will we will rock you!) Also, my driver's license recently expired so it's been hard to reach some great suppliers and buy new materials. But give me a week or two and I'll be back and running like the little engine who kept saying "I think i can, i think i can, i think i can." just because, well, I really could. :)

UPDATE! All items have been sold EXCEPT for the following:

Come back again. I have new stuff for you! Contact me at risamail@yahoo.com.

P.S. To my lovely buyers Camia, Roselle & Nissy: Paris will get to you soon! But i'll throw in a freebie for the delay. :)

Featured Seller: Dress Code

The other week, my friends Lian & Tiptip called me for an imprompt shoot for their clothing line, Dress Code. Please excuse my skillz and focus on the cute clothes instead haha!

black ruffled mini (still waiting if they come out in prints)
black bandage skirt
Visit Dress Code now!

You know who's bad?

I'M BAD. I should be brainstorming for my feasibility study right now. Instead I'm blogging again.

It's just that everyone's trying to look, or rather DRESS, like the King of Pop. Rhinestones, gloves, blinged out military jackets, badges, shoulder pads... I have some cool ideas for future products. Who knew Jacko could be so inspirational?

This year, I shared my birthday with the death of a legend. If i had known earlier, I would have asked everyone to dress up like him in my dinner.
MJ, I want you back!

Featured Seller: Ready for Rain

I have always been a sun worshipper, ready to toil and play under the security of sunshine. However, I also have had very memorable moments in this bipolar weather and during those July-September showers. I have played in the rain, ran through it, danced in it and faked sleep because of it... Well i wouldn't want everyone to know EVERYTHING about me, haha. But if I had it my way, it would only rain at night during sleeping time. The sound of that first rain drop hitting my windowsill, followed closely by the rising pitter-patter of rain drops is the most effective sleeping pill. Too bad Mother Nature doesn't let anyone tell Her what to do. So I simply try to live by the Scout's motto, always ready to brave and march through the rain.

Readyforrain.com sells hand-painted my+brolly umbrellas and rain skimmers (ballet flats you can wear during rain.) I got to participate in their shoot, and here are some pictures that weren't officially used but ones I liked.

For more on rainy day style guide, check readyforrain.com and plueysmanila.com.

P.S. Bend&Snap doesn't sell these items. Go to the links instead and inquire yourself. :) Love, Risa
